Have you always wanted to go behind the scenes of a major event and support it through your volunteer work?
Experience next year’s TV event up close and register as a volunteer. Registration is open until January 28, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
The 2026 Eurovision Song Contest will once again be held under the motto “United By Music.” Motivated, environmentally conscious, enthusiastic, friendly, and empathetic people are needed for this celebration of music. The following requirements apply to volunteering at the ESC:
- Legal age at the time of registration
- Good German and English skills; additional languages are an advantage.
- Participation in a casting call
- Availability between April 27 and May 17, 2026
- Video registration is now possible
Those interested can apply for one of the 800 coveted places by submitting a video and CV. This is made possible through a collaboration between the ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation) and the young startup nurdu, which aims to offer new opportunities to gain visibility and showcase potential beyond traditional CVs using a video tool.
Michael Krön, Executive Producer of the ESC 2026, stated:
“Our volunteers will represent the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ with great dedication and warmth and are important points of contact for our guests, We therefore welcome registrations from all nations, in all languages and from all age groups (provided they are of legal age).”
For the first round, you will need either a computer with a webcam and microphone or a modern smartphone or tablet (with camera and voice recording capabilities).
Anyone seeking to volunteer will be asked three questions and have up to 60 seconds to answer each one.
Video answers can be recorded directly via the web browser or app, or uploaded as a file.
Selection process in several stages
They will review all incoming video applications and will inform you at the end of January or in February 2026 (depending on the registration date) whether you have advanced to the next round. If you are on the waiting list due to the large number of qualified applications, they will let you know during March whether you still have a chance.
All those who impressed with their video and CV in the first round will be invited to a personal casting, likely on February 28th or March 1st, 2026, in Vienna. At this interview, you will demonstrate your language skills and be photographed for your personal accreditation. During the interview, we will work together to find a suitable role for you. Candidates from abroad are asked to come to the casting on March 15th, 2026, in Vienna, if possible.
After the casting, depending on your area of responsibility, you will receive information by the beginning of April 2026 at the latest as to whether you can participate as a volunteer at the “Eurovision Song Contest”.
