
aespa and Ty Dolla $ign Release Colourful Music Video for Switchblade
On August 4 at 1 p.m. Korean Local Time, aespa unveiled the music video for Switchblade (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign), one of the B-side tracks from their recent second album LEMONADE.
Featuring famous hip hop singer, songwriter and artist Ty Dolla $ign, Switchblade is an electronic dance song that compares how one transforms based on the scenario like a switchblade, highlighting flexibility and strength.
Switchblade‘s lyrics and composition were co-written by Ty Dolla $ign, who has featured and co-written Psycho by Post Malone and Work From Home, and co-written by American singer-songwriter Ant Clemons, who has worked on My Oh My by Camilla Cabello feat. DaBaby & Hit Different by SZA feat. Ty Dolla $ign.
The composition was co-written by American songwriter and producer Evan Blair, who has worked on Toxic Till The End by Rosé & Dirty Work by aespa, and singer-songwriter originally from Germany bülow, who has worked on music by legendary artists such as TEXAS HOLD EM’ by Beyoncé.
Also co-writing the composition was singer-songwriter David Charles Fische aka DCF, who has worked on No Way Back by ENHYPEN & body by Dayoung of WJSN; lastly, the composition was co-written by American singer-songwriter Sasha Alex Sloan, who has worked on Track 10 by Charli XCX & NOT CUTE ANYMORE by ILLIT.
The lyrics of Switchblade were co-written by danke, a Korean lyricist and composer who’s part of Lalala Studio and has worked on K-pop hits such as Magnetic by ILLIT and RUDE! by Hearts2Hearts, and co-written by Joowon, who has worked on multiple tracks on LEMONADE, such as WDA, Bite, LEMONADE, Camouflage, Can’t Help Myself, and many other SM artists such as sexier by NCT JNJM.
aespa took to the Allianz Stage at Lollapalooza Chicago held at Grant Park in Chicago, U.S., on August 2, they performed a 14-song setlist and were joined on stage by Ty Dolla $ign for a joint performance of Switchblade.
