BOYNEXTDOOR’s Sungho and ALPHA DRIVE ONE’s Sangwon named as new MCs for MBC’s Show! Music Core

MBC’s Show! Music Core announced on August 31 that starting with their first broadcast on September 5, Sungho of BOYNEXTDOOR and Sangwon of ALPHADRIVEONE will become their new permanent MC’s

This marks the first time both idols have been selected as regular music show MCs. The two have previously appeared as special MCs on Show! Music Core and Inkigayo.

The position opened after former ZEROBASEONE member and AND2BLE’s Kim Gyuvin and TWS’ Dohoon stepped down following the Aug. 22 broadcast, ending their approximately 17-month run as hosts. Sungho is set to host the show alongside another new host who has yet to be announced.

Sungho is a member of BOYNEXTDOOR, KOZ Entertainment‘s six-member boy group that debuted in May 2023. The group is known for its approachable, youth-focused music that explores everyday experiences and emotions.

Sungho stated:

I’m happy to greet viewers as a regular MC of Show! Music Core after previously appearing as a special MC,” Sungho said. “Please look forward to seeing many new sides of me.

Sangwon is a member of ALPHA DRIVE ONE, an eight-member boy group under WAKEONE. According to WAKEONE, the group’s name represents its ambition to become the best (“ALPHA”), its passion and drive (“DRIVE”), and its unity as one official team (“ONE”).

Sangwon stated

I’m truly honored to become an MC of ‘Show! Music Core, I will do my best to become an MC who can deliver positive energy to viewers.

Show! Music Core airs every Saturday at 3:15 p.m. The Aug. 29 episode will feature special hosts rather than the program’s new permanent hosts. Sungho and Sangwon will officially join ‘Show! Music Core’ beginning September 5.
