Billboard unveils ‘Billboard Korea Global K-Songs,’ the first global K-music chart supported by Billboard, and ‘Billboard Korea Hot 100,’ highlighting major hits in the Korean market.
Billboard Korea, in partnership with Billboard headquarters, has officially launched two new charts that will more precisely showcase the current state of K-Music and its global influence.
Released on the 3rd, “Billboard Korea Global K-Songs” and “Billboard Korea Hot 100” are global and domestic song charts that truly reflect K-Music, marking the first time Billboard has officially compiled data on how K-Music is being consumed in the global music market.
This new chart is part of Billboard’s K-Music project in the Korean market, a division of Penske Media Corporation (PMC).
It was designed in close collaboration between Billboard’s headquarters in the US and Billboard Korea. Drawing on accumulated expertise from global chart systems, it features a balanced approach that reflects the unique characteristics and real-world realities of the Korean music ecosystem.
This global song chart officially demonstrates the popularity of K-music consumed around the world. It is based on actual streaming and purchase data from around the world, including Korea. This allows for a quick overview of how K-music is spreading in the global market.

Billboard’s domestically focused Songs chart showcases the most popular songs in Korea, providing an intuitive glimpse into what music Koreans are currently listening to most, regardless of language.

Both charts are calculated based on official data, including streaming usage and sales figures from major global and domestic music platforms.
Silvio Pietroluongo, Billboard’s Vice President of Charts & Data Partnerships, stated:
“We are thrilled to bring back the new Billboard Korea Hot 100, which will give Korean music fans a more comprehensive look at a wider range of songs and artists, Korean music has a proven global influence, and the new Billboard Korea Global K-Songs chart will officially showcase the highest-performing K-music songs from around the world each week.”
Both charts are updated weekly, and the latest rankings can be found on the Billboard Korea website and Billboard US website.
