It depicts a love that feels like a thirsty moment of strong attraction to each other, honestly expressing emotions of love that spread like gaze, touch, and temperature.
Earlier today, i-dle held a media showcase at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, to commemorate the release of “We made”, This marks the release of their first mini album in 1 year and 5 months since their 8th mini album, “We are”.
During the media event, the five members Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua posed for photos, performed the lead track “Gimme Dat Love” for the first time and took part in a Q&A session with reporters.
Regarding their comeback, Miyeon stated, “It doesn’t feel real that this is already our 9th mini album,” adding, “We have returned with a summer song, and unlike before, it captures a hotter, more intense vibe, so we hope many people will enjoy it.”
When asked what the driving force was that allowed them to be active for the past eight years, Soyeon explained, “Since we are in our ninth year, there were times when we felt we were getting tired of ourselves and wanted to try something new, so we tried to take on challenges. We also thought about what kind of stories we should tell. We want to do music for a long time and enjoy having fun, so we decided to make a lot of changes. That becomes our driving force.”
i-dle has been connecting with fans on a global scale through its ongoing “Syncopation” world tour. The tour kicked off at Seoul’s KSPO Dome in February and has already seen major milestones. i-dle became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the Taipei Dome and drawing nearly 80,000 fans across two nights in Hong Kong.
“It still doesn’t feel real how many fans came to see us,” Yuqi said of the experiences of performing in Taipei and Hong Kong. “Performing in those venues made me feel grateful — like we’ve truly become artists people look up to. I realized once again that even if we speak different languages, K-pop can connect us all.”
On July 31, the group is scheduled to meet its American fans at the world-renowned Lollapalooza festival in Chicago.
Minnie said, “Just being able to participate in such a big and famous festival makes me so happy and honored. Having received so much good energy and support while touring and meeting many fans recently, I plan to draw strength from that and absolutely tear up the Lollapalooza stage. I intend to stand on stage powerfully and coolly.” Hearing this, Soyeon chimed in, “We are working hard to tear up the stage.”
