Six members of Fantasy Boys file lawsuit over exclusive contracts against Pocketdol Studio

Members of FANTASY BOYS have filed lawsuits against their agency PocketDol Studio.

On November 19, THE FACT reported that FANTASY BOYS’ Kang Minseo, Lee Hanbin, Hikaru, Hong Sungmin, Kim Gyurae, and Kaedan recently filed lawsuits against PocketDol Studio seeking confirmation of the non-existence of their exclusive contracts and injunctions to suspend their validity.

The reasons cited include issues with payments, the agency’s financial and operational problems, and a breakdown of trust due to non-fulfillment of contractual obligations.

According to officials, the six Fantasy Boys members claim in the lawsuit that “they violated their obligation to provide statement of accounts,” “the statement of accounts included items that were not actually executed, and some expenses were not paid,” and “although the contract stipulated that hundreds of millions of won in personnel expenses were to be deducted every quarter, most of the employees in question either did not actually exist or their activity history could not be confirmed.”

Kang Min-seo recently told fans on a fan communication platform, “The electricity in the dorms wasn’t working, so I’m sorry they’re contacting me after charging it,” and “It wasn’t a blackout, but I don’t think I paid the electricity bill, but it’s a bit stressful.”

The six members sent a corrective action request to Pocketdol Studio on September 30th, but when no action was taken, they sent a notice of contract termination on October 28th.This month, they filed a lawsuit to confirm the invalidity of their exclusive contract and an application for an injunction to suspend its effect.

Fantasy Boys was formed through MBC’s boy group audition program ‘ Fantasy Boys’, which aired in 2023, and debuted in September 2023.

Fantasy Boyz is not the first singers under Pocketdol Studio to file a lawsuit over their exclusive contracts.

Previously, Nam Do-hyun, a member of the boy group BAE173, filed for an injunction to suspend the validity of his exclusive contract until 2023 and left after winning the case. Recently, another member, Doha, filed a lawsuit to confirm the invalidity of his exclusive contract and an injunction to suspend the validity.
